You may know Cadillac as the brand that delivers luxury and advanced technology above all else. But these days, Cadillac is cutting its teeth in the world of racing, and those results are apparent in the new models at Sunset Cadillac of Venice. With a presence in IMSA and the World Endurance Championship (WEC) today, and an upcoming presence in Formula 1, Cadillac's racing heritage is only becoming deeper.
Cadillac's Endurance Racing Programs
With Cadillac's experience in both IMSA and WEC, endurance racing is part of Cadillac's DNA. Not only is Cadillac exploring the boundaries of what is possible with performance, but a focus on endurance means the brand is working hard on reliability as well. With participation in iconic races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, the Sebring 12-Hour, and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, Cadillac has proven both its performance and durability in some of the toughest circumstances. In October 2025, Cadillac earned a history 1-2 finish in the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
Cadillac Goes to Formula 1
In a move that's been many years in the making, Cadillac is now headed to Formula 1 for the 2026 season. Development on that car and platform began over two years ago, with approvals finally arriving this season in time for deployment in 2026. With former F1 winners Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez behind the wheel, the Cadillac Formula 1 Team is putting its best foot forward as it enters the highest form of motorsport in the world.
What Cadillac Racing Means for You
At the end of the day, Cadillac's racing efforts are about much more than marketing. They're about research, real-world testing, and pushing the boundaries of engineering to see what is possible. In both endurance racing and Formula 1, high-performance hybrid power units force developments of both horsepower and efficiency that will eventually power Cadillac's road cars around North Port and Port Charlotte, FL. And today, models like the CT5-V Blackwing and Escalade V are already benefitting from chassis and combustion engine development to bring pulse-pounding performance to our Venice, FL showroom.
